Boulders Beach, is located in Simon’s Town, approximately one hours drive via Chapman’s peak pass – not to be missed. The region is famous for its large picturesque granite boulders, sandy shores, clear turquoise sea and of course the resident African penguin colony. Visitors can enjoy close-up views of the penguins in their natural habitat. These charismatic species are known for their distinctive black and white plumage and large breeding colonies. They are the rarest of all penguins and are recognised by their loud donkey-like braying noises.
***Andrew’s Tip: Visit the penguins at low tide when there is better access – please ask us for more information when arranging your trip.
The surrounding area also offers scenic walking trails and breathtaking views of the coastline. Visit the colourful beach huts in Muizenberg and enjoy the vibrant dinning experiences at st James and Kulk Bay. Simon’s Town and it surrounding areas are often overlooked but fantastic destinations for both relaxation and exploration!
***Andrew’s Tip: try stopping at ‘Cape to Cuba’ for lunch or dinner – you’ll love the ambience.
