From May 2027, British Airways is introducing direct flights from London Gatwick to Kilimanjaro (JRO) and on to Zanzibar (ZNZ), starting with three flights a week.
Utilising a leading-edge Boeing 777, the airline will be bringing its own inflight service to these routes. These new services will appeal across the UK market with the ease of non-stop travel elevating the Tanzania experience.
The flights are set to depart Monday, Thursday and Saturday each week.
We can offer a fantastic selection of tours and camps across Tanzania, and with the option of the new direct flights, these are more accessible than ever.
Have you thought about a ten-day safari into Tanzania’s Northern parks of Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire as well as the Rift Valley and Lake Natron, plus a chance to climb the Sacred Mountain of the Masai (Ol Doinyo Lengai), and experience real Maasai culture. We can cover the best areas of this game-packed region, camping amongst the game with the sounds of the African bush all around as well as visiting some off the beaten track areas of Masailand, where few venture.

Kaskaz Mara Camp: A Northern Serengeti Gem…where the Mara River meets migration magic…
For travellers dreaming of the Serengeti at its most dramatic, Kaskaz Mara Camp is one of those special little gems we are delighted to recommend. Perched in the heart of the northern Serengeti, it combines a wonderfully wild setting with easy access to the region’s headline spectacle: the Great Migration. The Mara River and its iconic wildebeest crossings are close at hand, while Kogatende Airstrip is just a 40-minute drive away—making the camp both beautifully remote and conveniently reached.
With only ten spacious tented suites, including four family suites, the camp feels intimate and personal. Large netted windows allow the natural breeze to flow through, while soft cotton curtains, oversized beds and handcrafted, Swahili-inspired décor create an elegant sense of place. Thoughtfully chosen indoor and outdoor furnishings offer plenty of room to relax between adventures, and double vanities with en-suite facilities bring welcome modern comfort to life in the bush.

Open throughout the year, Kaskaz Mara Camp works equally well for drive-in guests and those booking a complete game package. It is a particularly versatile choice for couples, honeymooners, families with children aged five and over, and small groups. Days can unfold on morning and evening game drives or, for a more intimate connection with the landscape, on a walking safari with an armed guide—following tracks, feeling the Serengeti breeze and noticing the sights and sounds that are easily missed from a vehicle. Bush breakfasts, picnics and dinners add a memorable sense of occasion, as do elegant meals in camp and fireside drinks beneath the vast African sky. Hot-air balloon safaris provide another unforgettable perspective on the plains.
Why We Consider It a Little Gem
Kaskaz Mara Camp strikes an appealing balance: intimate without feeling limited, comfortable without losing its connection to the wilderness, and superbly placed for northern Serengeti adventures. Its year-round opening, flexible accommodation and range of experiences make it an easy camp to match with different styles of safari, while migration viewing from June to October gives wildlife-focused travellers an especially compelling reason to stay.
