Shortlisted for the John Hays Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Travel Industry Awards, Andrew has been nominated as a finalist for his two web-based apps ‘Go Travel Wallet’ and ‘Panndorah’ honeymoon gift list.
This special award category was introduced in tribute to one of the travel industry’s most-respected, who passed away in 2020. John Hays was one of travel’s greatest pioneers, who founded the UK’s largest independent travel agency and this award recognises the true entrepreneurial spirit of someone who contributed so much to the travel industry. This is a highly competitive award category, with many strong submissions, each displaying outstanding entrepreneurial flair.
These Travel Industry Awards by TTG, celebrate those travel companies and travel professionals who put customers at the heart of their business, who are most deserving of consumers’ trust, and who have responded to the challenges of the last 24 months by making positive changes to their business, products or services. With a robust process of judging panels, including John’s wife, Dame Irene Hays and daughter Helen, the Travel Industry Awards are the toughest to win in the travel sector, but it’s an incredible achievement for any company/individual to be nominated as a finalist.
The glittering awards ceremony will celebrate suppliers of travel across various different categories, as well as individual travel agents, and several special categories throughout the United Kingdom. The awards evening will take place on Thursday September 28 at Magazine London beside the iconic O2 arena and will be co-hosted by a surprise celebrity. Recent ceremonies were hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Andrew said: ”We are proud to announce that we have been nominated as one of eight finalists in the UK for the John Hays Entrepreneur of the Year award at this year’s Travel Industry Awards by TTG. Our Go Travel Wallet & Panndorah honeymoon gift list apps have enhanced our business and I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award. I think it’s great recognition, not just for me, but for the other finalists and for hundreds of entrepreneurs who continue to work tirelessly within our industry. The last few years in travel have been somewhat of a roller-coaster and to be recognised for our new venture makes the time, effort and money we have invested in this project even more gratifying.”
