Rich in diverse wildlife guests can view the stunning wilderness and view Humpback Whales, Orca, Dolphins, and Eagles in this ocean and rain forest paradise. Grizzly bear viewing season is August-October.

Located within the heart of Desolation Sound, Klahoose Wilderness Resort sits on the Pacific Ocean, nestled between the Coast Mountain peaks of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast and the Northern Islands of the Salish Sea. Just a 35-minute flight north of Vancouver, or accessible by car and boat, it offers a remote yet easily reachable retreat.

Enjoy a 3- or 4-night, all inclusive stay in one of seven lodge rooms or private cabins overlooking the ocean. The spectacular lodge provides an intimate environment and impressive  timber structure hewn of local cedar.

The resort is located in the traditional toq qaymɩxʷ (Klahoose Nation) territory. Take take part in authentic experiences led by Indigenous guides and cultural interpreters during your stay.

The resort received the prestigious Silver Certification from GreenStep Sustainable Tourism, which evaluates tourism businesses for their environmental impact. The entire resort operates off-grid, utilising its own micro power system.

Day 1-3 : UK – Vancouver

Simply a city like no other, Vancouver effortlessly combines the excitement and energy of a modern city with the invigorating appeal of the great outdoors. From spring’s abundance of cherry blossoms and summer’s sparkling waterfront days, through to the city’s fall cultural festivals and the snowy winter wonderland on the mountain peaks, Vancouver offers its visitors year-round adventures in this laidback urban metropolis right on the edge of a spectacular natural landscape. Explore diverse neighbourhoods, decadent dining, outdoor pursuits and multicultural attractions – in Vancouver, you won’t have to choose between city and nature.

Day 4-6 : Lund

Lund is located at the tip of the Sunshine Coast and is getaway to Desolation Sound. Welcome reception and meet the crew of the Pacific Bear as we set off from the quaint village of Lund. Cruising north into Desolation Sound, we will pass Desolation Sound Provincial Marine Park a haven for boaters and kayakers with its calm waters and sheltered anchorages. As we leave the boaters behind we cruise into Homfray Channel, one of the deepest in North American and flanked by towering peaks including the majestic Mount Denman (1920 m, 6299 ft straight up from the sea).  This evening we reach Klahoose Wilderness Resort nestled in the remote wilderness of Desolation Sound where we meet the staff and enjoy our meals prepared by the lodges chef.

Day 7 : Vancouver – UK

Today you depart Vancouver to return to the UK (Talk to us if you would like to extend your stay).

Confirm your wildlife holiday once you are happy with the final itinerary. At this stage a deposit will be required to secure your holiday and full terms and conditions will be forwarded with your paperwork including when the balance payment is due.
