January
• Wildlife viewing in Costa Rica

May
• May is warm and clear on the Galapagos Islands. On North Seymour, blue-footed boobies are mating
• By May, Peru is coming out of the wet season, yet it’s not usually too busy and the weather is generally very good. While the Peruvian Amazon and cloud forest are still quite wet underfoot, wildlife viewing can still be good
June
• Wild jaguars are more easily spotted in the Pantanal in Brazil
• June is the start of the drier cooler season in the Galapagos Islands and is a lovely month to visit. On Santa Cruz, the giant tortoises come to the lowlands to mate
• June is a generally good month for most experiences in Peru

July
• In the Galapagos Islands, dolphins and whales are often seen, especially near Fernandina and Isabela. Flightless cormorants nest on Fernandina
• July is a great month for spotting wild jaguars in Brazil‘s Pantanal
August
• August is a good month for most experiences in Peru. The claylicks in the rainforest are attracting parrots, macaws and parakeets in good numbers from August to October
• Fur seals are mating and sea lion pups being born in the Galapagos Islands
• August is a great month for spotting wild jaguars in Brazil‘s Pantanal. It is also a popular month to visit the beaches of Salvador and the northeast

September
• In Peru the claylicks in the rainforest are attracting parrots, macaws and parakeets in good numbers
• In the Galapagos Islands, sealions and penguins tend to be very active around September
• September is a great month for spotting wild jaguars in Brazil‘s Pantanal. August to October is also peak season for southern right whales in Santa Catarina
October
• October is a good month for most experiences in Peru
• This is a time when marine wildlife is generally very active in the Galapagos Islands
• October is a great month for spotting wild jaguars in Brazil‘s Pantanal. August to October is also peak season for southern right whales in Santa Catarina

November
• It’s the start of the dry season in Costa Rica, so come and see the beautiful rainforest and its inhabitants, try some cool adventures, and soak up the sun on the beaches
• In the Galapagos Islands this is a time when marine wildlife is generally very active. Swimming with sealion pups is not uncommon. Dolphin and whale spotting is quite common
• November is a good time to go to Rio and the Costa Verde in Brazil for relaxation and beaches
December
• Costa Rica has excellent birdlife and wildlife sightings in the gorgeous forests and parks in December. There are some lovely beaches on both the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean coasts
• In the Galapagos Islands giant tortoise eggs hatch from now until about April. The breeding season starts and ends this month for many species
• December is a good time to go to Rio and the Costa Verde in Brazil for relaxation and beaches
