14 Days

Enjoy a half day canoe trail and see hippo, crocodiles and beautiful water birds from an open kayak. Enjoy a glass of wine beside Lake Kariba, watching the sun set. Have tea on the terrace at the Victoria Falls Hotel.

DAY 1: International outbound flight

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Victoria Falls.

DAY 2: Victoria Falls

On arrival in Zimbabwe you will be transferred in a private vehicle to your hotel in the heart of Victoria Falls Town. Enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants in town or in your hotel.

Stay At: Victoria Falls Hotel

DAY 3: Victoria Falls

Wander down to the Victoria Falls and enjoy a morning exploring at your own pace. Aside from walking around the falls, helicopter rides offer a great way to see the falls in all their glory. This afternoon we recommend enjoying the African sunset on a boat cruise, keep your eyes peeled for elephant, hippo and a variety of birdlife.

Stay At: Victoria Falls Hotel

DAY 4: Hwange National Park

A driver will collect you from your hotel and drive you to the entry to Hwange National Park along a tar road. At Hwange Main Camp you’ll meet a guide and change vehicles into an open 4×4 — your safari begins here as you make your way through the national park to your lodge.

Stay At: Somalisa Expeditions

DAY 5: Hwange National Park

Enjoy your first full day on safari. Your guide will take you on a game drive on the lodge’s concession this morning searching for wildlife. Along the way you’ll stop for refreshments before heading back to the lodge to relax in the heat of the day. As the temperatures start to cool, your guide will take you back out into the private concession for your afternoon drive.

Stay At: Somalisa Expeditions

DAY 6: Hwange National Park

While in Hwange National Park, we’d recommend joining your guide on a walking safari. You’ll follow any tracks or signs you find so may end up viewing a herd of elephant just a few metres away.

Stay At: Somalisa Expeditions

DAY 7: Lake Kariba

Take a light aircraft transfer to Lake Kariba. On arrival, you’ll be driven to your lodge where you’re staying for the next three nights. This afternoon, enjoy a sunset cruise on Lake Kariba and witness the stunning colours across the water.

Stay At: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

DAY 8: Lake Kariba

Enjoy a day exploring the lake today. A guide will take you to the petrified forest and down small channels in search of wonderful birdlife and animals drinking in the shallows. Game drives are also on offer from the lodge into the Matusadona National Park, or you can simply relax on your balcony taking in the expansive views of the lake.

Stay At: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

DAY 9: Lake Kariba

During your stay you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at fishing and potentially catch your evening meal. In the evenings, we’d recommend joining your guide for some spectacular stargazing.

Stay At: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

DAY 10: Mana Pools National Park

Today you’ll take a light aircraft flight into the wilds of Mana Pools in the northeast of the country. After settling in, you’ll head out on an afternoon activity.

Stay At: Kanga Camp

DAY 11: Mana Pools National Park

Enjoy a whole day of safari activities. Game drives explore the woodland, open plains and riverbanks. Mana is well known for its elephant, which stand on their hind legs to reach the tall trees. It also has excellent populations of buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe, eland and more.

Stay At: Kanga Camp

DAY 12: Mana Pools National Park

Another full day of safari activities. You may wish to go on a walking safari or take a boat trip on the river to see crocodiles and hippo. Mana has some wonderful birdlife, with species including malachite kingfishers, saddle-billed storks, spoonbills and the migratory carmine bee-eaters.

Stay At: Kanga Camp

DAY 13: International return flight

Take a light aircraft flight out of Mana Pools across rural Zimbabwe to Harare to connect with your onward travel arrangements.

DAY 14: International return flight

Arrive home today to complete your journey.
